Paul E. Stewig

Paul E. Stewig, 77, of Good Thunder, MN, passed away September 28, 2024, at Mayo Health System in Mankato. 

Memorial Service 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Belgrade Ave. United Methodist Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday and will continue one hour before the service on Thursday all at the church. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Paul was born in Redwood Falls, MN, to Ben and Ethel (Anderson) Stewig on March 14, 1947. Over the years, Paul’s interests and occupations let him wear a variety of hats. 

Paul moved to Mankato and met his wife, JoAnn Sternitzke, at a job interview.

They were blessed with three children, Deb (Jeff) Kienholz, Mike (Gerry) Stewig, and Becky (Michael) Gummow; six grandchildren, Jordan (Anna Stangl) Kienholz, Mackenzie (Michael Highland) Kienholz, Emily Kienholz, Benjamin (Emily Mae) Stewig, T.J. Stewig, Michaela Gummow; and one great-granddaughter, Penelope Stewig; and extended family.

A special thank you to the Good Thunder Fire Dept., Mayo Healthcare medical staff, Hospice and Home Health teams, as well as Hillcrest Nursing Facility, and the many neighbors and friends for the care they have provided Paul over the last few years.
