Philip "Phil" R. Stuve

Philip R. Stuve, age 90, passed away on January 18, 2024.

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Wednesday.  Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to VINE, Mankato Food Shelf, or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.

Phil was born on June 26, 1933, to Donald E. and Birdell (Smith) Stuve in Mankato.  He attended school in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School in June 2, 1951.  On June 7^th, he began working for Fallenstein Plumbing which became Stuve Plumbing and Sons in February 1953.  In 1954, Phil got his Master Plumber’s License making him the youngest Master Plumber in the State of Minnesota.  Phil was a plumber for 63 years before he retired.

On February 12, 1954, he married Millie Bender and together they had four children, Jeff, Jim, Kevin, and Jan.  Phil enjoyed visiting with his family, family camping trips, hunting, fishing, playing blackjack, having coffee with his friends, restoring and driving classic cars and trucks.

Phil is survived by his sons, Jeff, Kevin (Karen Stitt); daughter, Jan; grandson, Rob (Stacey) Larson; granddaughter, Jodie Larson (Brian); great-grandson, Dylan; sisters, Helen (Bruce) Klugherz, Joyce Blank, MaryJo (Dick) DeGonda; brothers, Don (Nina) and Larry (Marty); special friend, Diann Olson; and extended family.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Jim; sister, Pat (Jerry) Raymond; brother-in-law, Bill Blank.
