Phyllis (Crane) Taylor

Phyllis (Crane) Taylor, age 101, of Phoenix, Arizona and originally of Garden City, died, Friday, May 3, 2024.

A Private Graveside service will be held in Garden City Cemetery, Garden City. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis was born in Garden City, MN on July 26, 1922, to Thomas G. and Gela M. (Cox) Crane.  She attended and graduated from Garden City High School in 1940.  She went on to complete nurses training at Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1943.  A war bride, she married LaVaughn “Bill” F. Taylor on April 25, 1943, in Garden City.  In 1956 they moved their family to Scottsdale, AZ.  She was employed by Associated Gynecologist Ltd for 30 years.  

The family enjoyed boating and traveling in their RV.

Phyllis was a devoted mother of three sons, Thomas (Patricia), Lawrence (Paulette), and Donald (Neta); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and extended family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 73 years, LaVaughn “Bill” in 2016; great-grandson, Cole in 2008; brother, Donald “Obe” Crane in 2023; and sister-in-law, Sue Crane in 2018.
