Randall John Schmidt

Randall “Randy” John Schmidt, age 68 of Mankato died Friday evening.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 19, 2023, from 4–7 p.m. at The Loose Moose Saloon (119 S. Front Street) in Mankato. Arrangements by Mankato Mortuary.

Randy was born on November 13, 1954, in Mankato. Randy enjoyed a successful career in the commercial linen service industry, where he started washing linens and retired in a senior management role. In his retirement he focused on his passion, golfing, where he spent most days at the Le Sueur Country Club, perfecting his game. When he was not trying to lower his handicap he enjoyed spending time at his son’s cabin fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his two sons, John Schmidt of Mankato and Luke (Teresa) Schmidt of Hawthorne, WI; four grandchildren, Simon, Maxwell, Emily, and Hailey; father, John (Donna) Anderson of Bella Vista, AR; two sisters, Paula (Rick) Brooks and Denise Olivo both of Mankato; brother-in-law, Craig Kleist of Mankato.

Preceded in death by son, Jacob; daughter, Laura Schmidt; mother, Ruth Haefner; sister, Karen Kleist.

The family would like to thank everyone who was there to support and care for him at his end of life.
