Randolph James Tuma, 71, of Madison Lake, died April 10, 2020 at his home.
Randy was born July 5, 1948 to William and Marion (Simon) Tuma in St. Peter, Minnesota. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1966. Following high school, Randy served in the US Navy in Puerto Rico. He married Rita Erickson in 1971. Together, they raised three children, Angie, Jody, and Robin. They later divorced. Randy retired from the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Department as a Chief Deputy Sheriff after 26 years of service.
With his love for the outdoors, you could find Randy in his boat, fish house or in the woods hunting for anything that flew or crawled. And at the end of the day, you could find him in his kitchen coming up with some concoction that tasted amazing. His love of family and friends was above all. His grandchildren were the most important people in his life, and he tried to teach them everything he knew of the outdoors that will be carried on for years. He had a wonderful gift of gab and could create friendships in minutes. He was genuine, kind and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He always had a story to share with anyone willing to listen. The family would love to hear any stories that you have of Randy, so please feel free to share with them.
Randy is survived by his children, Angie (Terry) McDonough, Jody (Marcy) Tuma, and Robin (Todd) Jordan; ex-wife, Rita Klocow; grandchildren, Rachel McDonough, Dylan and Tristyn Tuma, and Tyler and Brayden Jordan; mother, Marion Tuma; sister, Mary Kay “Kutchie” (David) Whipps; nephews, Andy and Steve Whipps; and his cat, Spooky. He was preceded in death by his father, William; grandparents, James and Mary Simon, and Clara Tuma.
Due to the current circumstances, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
