Randy Scott Rasmussen

Randy Scott Rasmussen, age 58, of Madison Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on April 22, 2024 with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at The Landing in Madison Lake.  Please wear casual attire. 

Randy was born on April 14, 1966 in Wadena, MN to Leon and Carol (Bagdon) Rasmussen.  He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1984.  On Sept. 5, 1992, Randy was united in marriage to Lana Leesch and they were blessed with two children, Nicholas James and Kristen Marie.  Randy worked for Arnold’s of Mankato in sales and then finished his 40 year career as the general manager.  Randy enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and motorcycling.  He loved spending time with family and friends and was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild.  

Randy is survived by Lana Rasmussen of Mankato; two children, Nicholas Rasmussen of Mankato and Kristen (Zachary) Zernechel of Minot AFB; parents, Leon and Carol Rasmussen of Redwood Falls; brother, Jody “Lee” (Tonya Haas) of Redwood Falls; sister, Leanne (Steve) Kaufenberg of Redwood Falls; sisters-in-law, Marilee (Randy) Quint of Rochester, Kari (Paul) Woyda of New Prague, and Lisa (Tony) Waldo of Harris; brother-in-law, Stacy Leesch of Mankato; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Aaron; and several aunts and uncles. 

Randy will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through all who knew and loved him.
