Robert Dalbert Hines, age 70, died on November 4, 2024 in Mankato.

Bob was born April 12, 1954, in Howell, Michigan, to William and Melba (Bellaire) Hines. He was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brighton, Michigan and attended K-8th grade there. He graduated from Brighton High School, in 1972. Bob was active in Boy Scouts, ran track, played football and sang in the high school choir. He attended Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan, where he met his wife, Anna Caterino. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theology in 1976. Bob and Anna were married in Lansing, Michigan on June 5, 1976. Bob entered the Army and spent most of his 3 years at Ft. Meade, Maryland. In 1981, Bob was confirmed into the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and in 1984 began studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Bob served his vicarage year at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Ricketts, Iowa. Following his graduation with a Master of Divinity, he accepted his first call back to Iowa, to the newly formed triple parish: St. Luke's in Ricketts, Immanuel, Soldier Twp and St Paul's, Hanover Twp, in rural Charter Oak, Iowa. Bob also served at Redeemer in New Ulm, Minnesota, Faith in Pierre, South Dakota, and Centennial in Henderson, Minnesota. Bob loved talking with anyone; he could always find a topic for discussion. He loved Contemporary Christian music and playing autoharp and harmonica. Bob enjoyed using his love for dancing and Christian music by Dj-ing for youth dances. While in New Ulm, he initiated the Rez Dance (Rez for Resurrection) for the area youth. Bob enjoyed many summers at Sonshine Christian Music Festival in Willmar. Most recently, Bob looked forward every week to playing harmonica with the praise band at Hosanna Highland on Sunday mornings.
