Rhonda was born December 6, 1948, in Fort Dodge, IA to parents, Robert & Betty Lou Wykoff. She graduated from Rockwell City High School. Then graduated from the Le James beauty school in Fort Dodge, IA.
She met Ronald Teigen when he was working at the telephone company in Rockwell City, IA. They were married January 24,1970, in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho where she worked as a beautician. They lived in Texas and California before moving to Lake Crystal, MN. They were blessed with two sons, Andrew and Matthew. She was a devoted mother, friend, caregiver, homemaker, cleaned homes, and cut and styled hair for many years. She worked at Del's Texaco, managed Heart and Home craft store at River Hills Mall in Mankato, MN, and was manager of the Thomas Apartments now Brookside Apartments until her death.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and ZLCW Rebecca Circle. Rhonda held many positions on the ZLCW Board through the years. She was active in the Scout Program and served as a Den Mother for many years. She was a member of the Blue Earth County Extension Club. Previously she was a volunteer at GRACE store, secretary for the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 294 and volunteered for the Angel Tree Program. Ron and Rhonda also delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.
The most important thing in her life was her family and she was an amazing, loving, giving grandmother to Abby, Emma, Maddie, and Wyatt. She loved attending her sons and then her grandchildren's sporting and school events. She gave her unconditional love to all of them. She loved cooking meals for all the holidays for her family. She also was so happy spending time with her extended family. As the oldest sibling Rhonda was a caretaker to all of us. We all went to her to share our joys and troubles and sought guidance from her. When her mother moved to Lake Crystal, Rhonda took care of her and all her needs.
Some of her favorite pastimes were putting together puzzles and reading. Rhonda loved watching the old time game shows and the Hallmark channel on TV, and couldn’t miss her favorite soap opera. Time spent visiting and doing things with her friends was priceless to her.
