Richard H. Lueck, age 79, of North Mankato, died Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato.  Visitation will be one hour before service.  Interment will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Mankato.  Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.

Richard was born January 13, 1944, to Leslie E. and Marie G. (Doss) Lueck in Mankato.  He graduated from Mankato High School in 1962.  Richard served his country with the U.S. Army from 1965-67 a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Army Commendation Medal for his role as an airplane mechanic.   He was united in marriage to Audrey C. Weigt on September 6, 1969, in Mankato.  Richard was employed for 36 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.  He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and spent countless hours as a deacon, property board member, as a janitor, and volunteering in various ways. Richard loved fast cars, motorcycles and riding his Ducati around Lake Washington when he was younger. He was an avid sports fan who loved watching high school basketball and the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed bicycling, golfing, and his McDonald’s coffee group. He enjoyed spending time with his family most of all.

Richard is survived by his wife, Audrey; children, Dawn (Greg) Rausch of Minnetonka and Nathan (Carrie) Lueck of Prior Lake; daughter-in-law, Jolene Lueck of Elysian; five grandchildren, Owen, Carson, Griffin, Austin, and Harper; four siblings, Leroy Lueck of Mankato, Alaine Hoffman (Robert Wolff) of Madison Lake, David Lueck of Mankato, and Jerry (Ann) Lueck of Spokane, WA; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, Brian; his parents; two siblings, Luverne (Norma) Lueck and Helen (Chester) Hrdlicka; three sisters-in-law, Charmaine Lueck, Bonnie McCarty, and Barbara (Don) Anderson.

The family would like to thank the Oak Terrace staff and Mayo Hospice team for their excellent and compassionate care of Richard.
