Richard Sears Marvin, age 92, of Mankato, died Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
A private burial will take place at a later date. Northview–North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Dick was born November 8, 1929 to Osbert and Irma (Sears) Marvin in Minneapolis. He graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis in 1947 and then attended the University of Minnesota. Following university, Dick served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. After he was honorably discharged, he attended Dunwoody Institute and received his certification in electronics. On November 27, 1954, Dick married Beverly Albright in Austin, MN.
Dick worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company retiring after 40 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and traveling with Bev.
Dick is survived by his two sons, Lee (Julie) Marvin of Princeton, MN and David (Shelley) Marvin of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren, Brandon, Makenzie, and Alex Marvin, Teagan (Michael) Tretter, and Kellan Marvin (Walker Embry); great granddaughter, Rowen Tretter; sister-in-law, Judy Haugen of Rochester, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bev; sister, Betty (Mike) Szurek; and brother-in-law, Roger Haugen.
The family would like to thank Ecumen Pathstone Living and Ecumen Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Dick and Bev over this past year.
