Rick Straube

Ricky “Rick” Straube, 68, of Mankato, passed away August 6, 2020 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held 11a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr., in Mankato with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Rick was born October 8, 1951 to August and Laura (Brooks) Straube in Waseca, Minnesota. He married Debi Anton on July 23, 1983. Together they raised two children, Marc and Alex.

Rick farmed for Don Appel and Walter Miller for many years. He retired from Alumacraft Boat Company after 17 years of service. Rick enjoyed his large garden, fishing, hunting, watching the Twins and Vikings, going to the casino, and his cat, Potsie. Rick will be fondly remembered as a generous man who was always willing to help others.

Rick is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debi; children, Marc and Alex Straube; sister, Karney (Tom Elmore)  Bushinger; sisters-in-law, Denise (Steve) Thompson and Mary (Terry) Ammerman; brother-in-law, Mike (Debby Ideker) Anton; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Sara, Joe, Heidi, Nate, David and John; and cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amelia and Kathy; brother -in-law, Kenny; brother, James, and Father-in-law, Joe Anton.
