Rita Grace Sloan, age 87, of Mankato, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Oaklawn Care and Rehab Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 9, 2019 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rita was born on April 29, 1932 to Walter and Martha Langr, in Somerset Township, Steele County, Minnesota. She married William Sloan on March 17, 1950, and together they had five children. She later married Warren Brockmeyer on November 5, 1999. Rita enjoyed to sew, go to auctions, travel, play cards, and cook.

Rita is survived by her children, Ken (Rose) Sloan, Patty (Dave) Mortensen, Ann Sloan (Brian Lane), Connie Griffin (Lloyd Johnson); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Sloan; husband, Warren Brockmeyer; parents, Walter and Martha Langr; daughter, Cathy Russell; siblings, Lawrence Langr, Martha (Albert) Styndl, and Dorothy (Evan) Rysavy.
