After graduating from Minnesota Lake High School, he graduated from SCTC and attended Mankato State College.
On a rainy, snowy and sunny day in April 1975, Robert and Miriam Malzahn were married. They lived in Mankato and North Mankato. They were blessed with two daughters, Melissa in 1980, and Alicia in 1983.
Robert was employed through the years at Midtex, GTO Electronics, Winco, Spartech, Taytronics and E.I. Microcircuits. He had many fond memories of co-workers throughout the years.
Robert enjoyed playing softball, golfing, bowling, hunting, biking, camping, and traveling. Most of all, he enjoyed his daughters’ activities and family vacations.
Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Miriam; his two daughters, Melissa (Mike) Campion of Prior Lake and Alicia (Jon) Corbett of Mankato; his grandchildren, Sean, Julia and Charlie Campion and Kaylee and Aaron Corbett; siblings that he grew up with, Rodney (Renee) Feist of Janesville, Marilyn (Eldo) Proehl of Minnesota Lake, Dale (Becky) Feist of Paynesville and Burnell Juliar of Los Angeles, CA; siblings that he found later in life, Jan, Jeannie, Selena, Nancy, Garson, Joan, David, and Rita; many nieces and nephews; aunt and uncle; cousins; and special friends, Carol and Jon Holten, Wendy and Kent Kalm, and Patti and Paul Lokken.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Harlin Feist; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Art Malzahn, Sr.; brother-in-law, Art Malzahn, Jr.; and by grandparents.
Robert was honored to donate his body to Mayo Clinic Bequest Program in Rochester for education for health care professionals to help future patients.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations given to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Robert’s name.
