Roberta Rae Gjerstad

Roberta Rae Gjerstad, age 85, of Mankato, died on September 8, 2020 at New Perspective Assisted Living.

Roberta was born on August 14, 1935 in Bertha, MN to Louis and Mildred (Mellon) Wendorf.  She graduated from Bertha High School in 1952.  On March 13, 1954, Roberta was united in marriage to Leonard Gjerstad in Clarrisa, MN.  They moved to New Ulm in 1964.  Roberta was a secretary at the New Ulm Junior High Library and the New Ulm Public Library.  She enjoyed spending time at the lake. 

Roberta is survived by son, Mark Gjerstad (Tammy Thompson); daughter, Heidi Weilage; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Diane (Ron) Brutlag.  She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, James Gjerstad; sister, Maureen; and brother, Larry.

Roberta’s wishes were to have no services.  Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
