Robyn Lynne Lundsten, devoted wife and mother, was unexpectedly called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at River Ridge Church in North Mankato, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m.
Robyn was born in St. James, MN, on October 2nd, 1966, to Raymond F. Harder and DeLoris A. (Niessen) Harder. She grew up on the family farm in rural Butterfield and her childhood was filled with many summer afternoons playing outside, always barefoot, and accompanying her dad as well as her beloved animals.
In 1985, Robyn graduated from Butterfield-Odin High School and continued her education at Mankato State University, graduating in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in special education.
On April 16, 1994, she was united in marriage to best friend and love of her life, Randy C. Lundsten. In the years to follow, they welcomed two children, Amber and Taylor, and celebrated nearly 30 years of marriage.
Over the span of Robyn’s professional career, she spent 14 years in the staffing office at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, where she wore many hats to ensure patient and staffing needs were met daily. She then embarked on a career shift away from the medical field and back into education, where she worked at Minnesota State University, Mankato, as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Communication and Media until the time of her passing. There, she assisted professors and students alike, often stepping in as ‘mom’ to students in need.
Robyn had an aura of warmth and coziness that touched the lives of many. She had a creative mind and found joy in envisioning a space and how she could make it warm and inviting to others. Robyn’s positivity and genuine spirit always made those around her feel at ease and seen. Her steadfast faith in God was evident, as she lived out her faith daily and encouraged others in their own walk with the Lord.
Robyn’s greatest joy was being mom to Amber and Taylor. As a close-knit group, the family would often find themselves spending evenings chatting, exchanging funny stories, or just nestling in and getting ‘mom’ advice. When life was tough or things didn’t make sense, Robyn always had a way of putting things into perspective and providing the right words and direction. She was a human compass who always spoke truth into her kids and pointed them to God.
Left to cherish Robyn’s memory are her husband, Randy; children: Amber and Taylor; siblings: Curt (Gretchen) Harder and Renee (Tim) Herrig; brother-in-law Rick (Kristi) Lundsten; six nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and DeLoris Harder; as well as father-in-law, Bill Lundsten, and mother-in-law, Jan Lundsten.
