Roger Delmar Krengel, age 90, of North Mankato, died Monday, August 5, 2019, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.
Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 410 Marie Lane, North Mankato. Family interment will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Kingdom Hall – Mankato Congregation.
Roger was born March 24, 1929 to Leo “Chuck” and Verona (Bunde) Krengel in Good Thunder, MN. He graduated from Good Thunder High School and Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa. Roger was united in marriage to Dixie M. Loucks on August 25, 1956 at her parents farm in Belgrade Township. Roger was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1957 where he was an active member and minister in his religion. Roger drove truck, taught English, worked for the Mankato Water Department and retired from Mankato State University after 20 years. He took great pride and joy in his vegetable garden and he loved to go ballroom dancing with Dixie.
Roger is survived by his wife, Dixie of North Mankato; three children, Julie (Michael) Gustafson of North Mankato, Heidi Gray of Waseca, Kevin (Kristel) Krengel of North Mankato; four grandsons, Gerry Gustafson, Geordi Gustafson, Terrance Joel “TJ” Stroble, and Benjamin Stroble; brother, Ronald (Illa Jean) Krengel of Minnesota Lake; three sisters-in-law, Revé Krengel, JoAnn Krengel, and Pattie Krengel; brother-in-law, Richard “Bud” (Nancy) Loucks; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerome, Gary, and Harold.
