Ronald Dale Sillman was born June 14, 1949, in Canby, MN to Herman and Palma (Johnson) Sillman. He graduated from Canby High School in 1968 and was drafted into the US Army shortly thereafter. Ron spent 14 months as a helicopter crew chief, serving his country proudly in the Vietnam War. Upon return to the States, Ron was united in marriage to Jacalyn Cornell on January 23, 1971, in Gary, SD. They lived in several places before settling in St. Clair in the mid- 1970s. Ron worked at several places including MN Elevator, Safelite Autoglass, Exhaust Pros, and owned a small business. He was part of the St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, the St. Clair City Council, and a longtime member of the American Legion. He spent numerous years as part of the MN National Guard. One of Ron's greatest passions in life was fishing and he spent many hours with a line in the water. He was known to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone, about anything, at any time. Most importantly, Ron was proud of his family.
