Ruth Mary Larson

Ruth Mary Larson, age 78 of Mapleton passed away of natural causes on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Oak Hills Living Center, New Ulm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Mapleton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, Mapleton. Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruth was born on September 11, 1942 in New Ulm, MN to Frank and Dorothy (Schweiss) Beck, first of 7 children. She graduated high school from Madelia in May 1960 and was married to Gerard Larson the following October. This union was blessed with 6 children. She worked for Head Start New Ulm and Mapleton Community Home.  Ruth loved to crochet, read and play cards but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Ruth is survived by her children, Barb (Steve) Waibel, Lu Ann (Doug) Gatzlaff, Judy Fluegge, Anthony Larson (Mandi), Tim Larson (Amy Rose), and Patrick (Ellen) Larson; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anna Brackelsberg, Tom (Debi) Beck and Steve (Sheila) Beck. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Francis and Paul; 1 sister, Mary; 2 brothers-in-law, John and Ken; 1 great-grandson, Bryson and 1 niece, Anna.
