Ruth Marie Reichwald

Ruth Marie Reichwald, 84, of Mankato, died Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior. Following a luncheon at Northview, burial will follow at Norwegian Grove Cemetery. Ruth was born May 19, 1939 in Long Prairie, MN to William and Clara (Schauer) Mau. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1957. Ruth was united in marriage to Glenn Reichwald on July 2, 1960. Together, they raised four daughters. 

To some, Ruth was described as a stubborn German with a dry sense of humor. She treasured the simple things in life, like watching the birds out the window, enjoying a piece of pie, spending time with her family, watching game shows, and reading. When her grandchildren were young, Grandma Ruth was often their chauffeur, driving them to the library for the summer reading program. 

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Deborah Reichwald, Elizabeth (Joel) Ruiz, and Sarah (Robert) Beiswanger; grandchildren, Calvin (Michelle) Sargent, Patrick (Anna) Sargent, Meri Molina, Eric (Cassie) Molina, Faith (Franck) Olilo, Joshua Beiswanger, Charan Chuol, and Ethan Beiswanger; and the light of her life - great-grandchildren, Maylie Olilo and Milo Molina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Reichwald; daughter, Mary Sargent; and brother, Raymond Mau.
