Sally Avis Lamont

Sally Avis Lamont, age 81, of North Mankato, died on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her home.

Sally Avis, the daughter of Adolph Emil and Mildred (Strohl) Krueger, was born on November 16, 1938 in Mankato. She married Earl Lamont on August 16, 1957. Sally graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a bachelor degree in English. She taught English Literature and Keyboarding at Gaylord High School and helped with the school plays. Sally enjoyed gardening and wildlife and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Bryan (Becky) Lamont of North Mankato; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Nathan) Gee and Scott (Stephanie) Lamont, all of Mankato; great grandchildren, Emma Gee and Quinn and Josie Lamont; and brother in law, Dr. Richard Sanford of St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl; and granddaughters, Cassandra and Alycia.

Private family burial will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
