Sean Lucas Stanton-Wilcox, 28, of Mankato, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2021 in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at the United Church of Mapleton in Mapleton with visitation starting at 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery in rural Mapleton.

Sean was born December 15, 1992 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Linda Stanton and Victor Wilcox. He graduated from Mankato East High School in 2012.

Sean was passionate about all things outdoors including hiking, boating, fishing, and camping with his family. He also enjoyed traveling, basketball, soccer, and especially spending time with his friends and family.  He will be remembered as a warm-hearted faith filled person who strived to make a difference in his own life as well as in the lives of others. Sean will be greatly missed by many.

Sean is survived by his mother, Linda Stanton of Mankato; father, Victor (Brenda) Wilcox of Mapleton; siblings, Anisa Stanton-Dahhane, Brittany (Damian) Gruber, Stephan Johnson, and Corey Johnson; grandparents, Bonnie (Howard) Klingler, Ernesto Lara, Carol (Mitch) Abbas, Don Klossner and Eric Wilcox; uncles, Ben Stanton and Mark Wilcox; cousin, Cody Stanton-Bridges; and nephew, Callan Gruber.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Archie and Lorraine Stanton.
