Sharon Rae Coopman

Sharon Rae Coopman, age 84, of Mankato, died on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Primrose Retirement Community of Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Private family interment will be at Decoria Cemetery in Decoria Township.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

Sharon Rae, the daughter of Milo and Pauline (Neisen) Schindle, was born on January 15, 1937 in North Mankato. She graduated from high school in 1955. On August 30, 1955, she married Ernest “Ernie” Coopman at St. John’s Catholic Church in Mankato. He preceded her in death in 1998. Sharon cleaned apartments and private homes and was a homemaker while raising their six children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, baking, crafting and sewing, dancing to old time music, and flower gardening.

She is survived by her children, Gary Coopman (special friend, Bethany Peterson), Rhonda Coopman, Kris Ulrich, Dale Coopman, Jolene (Dan) Tischer, and John (Heather) Coopman, all of the Mankato area; 6 grandchildren, Nicole (Matt), Kyle (Kassi), Marcella (Troy), Ryan (friend, Sadie), Dylan, and  Haley; 10 great grandchildren, Shia, Gracelyn, Chevelle, Emma, Gracie, Rory, Aria, Deakin, Kaydyn, and Finlin; and very special friend, Bob Krause.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernie Coopman; granddaughter, Angela Black; son in law, Frank Ulrich; and daughter in law, Patti Coopman.
