Sharon Kay Klugherz, age 77, of Mankato, died on Friday, April 5, 2019 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. It was Sharon’s wish to not have a formal service.
Sharon Kay (Cammack) Klugherz was born August 21, 1941 to Kenneth and Lucille (Salfer) Cammack on a Thursday at 3:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato. She went to Mankato Schools and graduated from Mankato High School in 1959. Sharon went to Cosmetology school and graduated in 1960. On July 29, 1961, she married Thomas A. Klugherz and they had two children, Timothy Thomas and Kimberly Kae. Sharon was a beautician for 10 years and later a jewelry consultant for Roger’s House of Gems and Save Mor Jewelry for 28 years. She enjoyed Indy and sports car racing and she grew and showed roses for many years. She was a member of the Mankato Rose Society, the Minnesota Rose Society and the American Rose Society. She was also a member of the Key City Conservation Club and the Basso-Presto Sports Car Club and raced for many years. She lost hard earned money at the horse races but enjoyed every minute of it.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Klugherz; children, Timothy Thomas Klugherz (Elizabeth Matzke) and Kimberly Kae Stanton; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
