Shirley M. Schuldt Biddle

Shirley Schuldt Biddle, 91, passed away on September 13, 2020 at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, Minnesota. 

Shirley was born on February 21, 1929 to Carl and Lena (Nelson) Heins on the family farm in rural Good Thunder, Minnesota.  She attended country school and graduated from the Good Thunder Public School.  Shirley attended Mankato Teachers College and earned a teacher’s certificate.  She taught elementary school in both the St. Paul and Amboy school districts.

Shirley married Jerome Schuldt on July 25, 1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, MN.  They settled in Amboy, MN where Jerome had a dental practice and raised a family of 3 children.  Jerome passed away in 1970. Shirley married James Biddle on April 11, 1980.  Shirley was a longtime member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amboy. She was involved with teaching Sunday school, Bible School, confirmation, and was a member of the ladies’ guild. She enjoyed being together with family and was a devoted grandmother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jerome Schuldt; brothers, Edward Heins, Ernest (Bud) Heins; and sister Dorothy Eberhart.  Shirely is survived by her husband, James Biddle; her children, Douglas (Mary) Schuldt, Scott (Lori) Schuldt, and Paula Schuldt; step-children, Nadene (Chuck) DeVore and Derek (Irina) Biddle; grandchildren, Erika Schuldt, Kristine Schuldt, Todd (Melody) Schuldt, Michael Schuldt, Brian (Carrie) Schuldt, Lisa (Elliot) Tenner, Brad (Becca) Schuldt; step-grandchild, Kindra DeVore; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Barnard; brothers, Henry Heins and Harry Heins; sisters-in-law, Donna Heins and Bette Schuldt.

A private family service will be held with burial at Memorial Park in Good Thunder, Minnesota.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Mapleton Community Home Faith Enrichment Center. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
