Stanley E. Walrath

Stanley Edward Walrath, age 71, of North Mankato, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. His love for life and compassion for people were unmatched, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Stan was truly irreplaceable, and while we mourn his loss, we find comfort in the memories we cherish and look forward to the day we see him again.

Stanley Edward was born on October 23, 1953, in Mankato to Howard E. and Myrna I. (Crane) Walrath. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1972, went on to the USMC from 1975 to 1978, and then worked as a skilled tradesman and carpenter, where his craftsmanship was admired by many. In 1985, he was united in marriage to Cindi Rodriguez Walrath, and though they later divorced, they shared a bond that remained strong.

An avid outdoorsman, Stan loved to hunt and fish, finding joy in the beauty of nature. However, his greatest passion was spending time with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or share an inappropriate joke.

Stan is survived by his former wife, Cindi Rodriguez Walrath; his beloved children: Torrey (Heather), along with his cherished granddaughters Savanna and Brooklyn; Amy and her son Christian; and Bethany and her basketball team: Johnathan, Maria, Janelle, Romo, Yogi, and Masai; as well as his nephews, Jeff and Brian Takle, and their families. He is also remembered fondly by his special friend, Shelly Blume, and her family - whom he shared many happy times.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Esther Joseph (Karen Takle).

A funeral service with military honors to celebrate Stan’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday and from 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Minneopa Cemetery.

In honoring Gramps’ legacy, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness, love, and adventure in our own lives. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
