Susan Roise, age 73, entered Heaven from her home in North Mankato, MN on Christmas Day, 2020. Heaven is assured because she had placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. How appropriate that she went to Jesus on the day we celebrate His birth after a 9.5 year battle with multiple myeloma.
Susan (Sue) met her husband John at the University of MN. They had 13 addresses around the country in their first 10 years of marriage before they moved to Mankato in 1978. She started Bible Study Fellowship in Mankato and was the teaching leader for 18 years. Christ was the foundation of her life, and she loved sharing and teaching the Bible as God’s infallible Word that changes lives. Sue taught from the Bible in several parts of Asia and was a speaker at mission conferences in the United States and several other countries.
Sue is survived by John, her husband of 52 years; sons Geoff (Rebecca) of Mankato, MN, Nate (Terah) of Minneapolis, MN, and Jon (Lauren) of Falmouth, MA; grandchildren Joshua, Hannah, Libby, Adeline and Serena Roise. She is also survived by sisters Shelley, Sheila, Sally, and brother, Lowell; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stenersen.
A special thanks to Mankato Clinic and Sue’s primary care doctor, Caroline Baerg MD, Mayo Rochester and Martha Q. Lacy MD, Mankato Oncology infusion center staff with Suresh Devineni MD, as well as the short time with Mayo Hospice. We are blessed to have such competent and caring medical staff in our area.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 1 from 3-5pm at New Creation World Outreach Church, 1124 N River Dr, North Mankato, MN.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 2, also at New Creation World Outreach Church. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery. For those unable to attend the service, live streaming will be available. The service will be live streamed at:
