Thomas Fritz was born on October 20, 1947 to Geneva and Henry Fritz in Adrian, MN. He grew up in the surrounding area and graduated from Adrian High School in 1965. He joined the Army National Guard in September of 1966 and served until honorably discharged on June 6, 1972.

Tom married the love of his life, Mary Fasnacht, on November 9, 1968 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. They spent the majority of their married life together on the [Fasnacht] family farm in Madison Lake, raising their six children. In addition to farming, Tom worked as a graphic designer at MGA Graphics for over 25 years. He loved his work and in 2008, Tom opened his own business, JRM Promotions, which he ran for 10 years. He retired from farming in 2010 and in 2017, at the age of 70, he closed the business and retired fully.

Tom had a passion for sports, always catching the Vikings, Timberwolves, Gophers, and Twins games and attending as many of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events as he could. He never passed up an opportunity to have a party and even celebrated his 75th birthday (while on hospice) with family, friends, and his loyal companion Max this fall. Tom was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church and served on the Parish Council Committee, the Calvary Cemetery Board, and as an usher.

Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Fritz; children, daughter, Jenni (Kevin) McDonald and sons, Todd (Jen), Tim (Sherry), John (Kelcey), Tommy, and Jim (Emily) Fritz; 20 grandchildren, Jacob, Sam, Mitch, Andrew, Emily (Luk), Liz, Megan, Adam, Amanda, Eli, Jamie, Lauren, Jack, Riley, Miles, Ben, Alex, Jake, Lilly, and Wyatt; siblings, Stan (Rose) Fritz, Janice Schissel, Joyce (Gary) Sieve, and Therese (Butch) Henriksen.

Preceding Tom in death were his parents; siblings, Ann Reisenbigler and infant brother, Wayne; in-laws, Ben and Florence Fasnacht; step-mother-in-law, Marge Fasnacht; brothers-in-law, Jerry Reisenbigler, Ron Ackland, and Marv Schissel.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mankato Clinic, Mayo Health System, and Mayo Hospice for the wonderful care and support that was provided to Tom and his family.
