Timothy "Tim" Lidstrom

Timothy K. Lidstrom, age 73, died unexpectedly Friday, September 29, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, Minnesota.  Tim was born September 29, 1950 to Glenn and Elayne Lidstrom in St. Peter, Minnesota.

Tim obtained his real estate license in 1979 and by the mid ‘80’s found his passion and niche in commercial real estate. In 1993 he earned the designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), representing the highest standard of excellence in the commercial real estate field. After many years working with Curt Fisher, in 1999 Tim branched out on his own and established Lidstrom Commercial Realtors along with Karla Jo Olson. He was extremely proud to have assisted many buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and developers – from big box retailers to locally-owned businesses to individuals – to establish themselves and grow in the Mankato/North Mankato area. Tim loved to get deals done. He was an ardent advocate for the community and served on numerous boards and committees of the many local and regional organizations to which he belonged.

Tim loved to travel with his friend, John Linder, his partner in crime. They visited many countries and had many adventures. He enjoyed going on fishing trips to Alaska with Captain Lee and his motley crew. He also liked to pheasant hunt in South Dakota and at Traxler’s Preserve with his energetic yellow lab, Bella. Tim was a very social person and enjoyed meeting his friends at The Circle Inn on Monday nights.

Tim married Nancy Melby and they recently celebrated their 43^rd wedding anniversary.  Tim provided well for his family, was a loving father to Nicole and was especially proud of all she has accomplished thus far in her life.  He was a generous friend to those in need. Tim’s last act of generosity was helping others by being an organ donor.

Tim is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Nicole of Austin, MN; brother, Mark of Brainerd, MN; sister, Karin Rees (Sam) of New Orleans, LA; nephew, Kory Lidstrom of Mound, MN; and niece, Laura Rees of Los Angeles, CA.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Kerry Lidstrom.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Events Center, Mankato, MN with a tribute to honor Tim's life at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Connections Shelter, ECHO Food Shelf or donor’s choice. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
