Valleen Emily Erickson

Valleen Emily Erickson, age 71, of Lake Crystal died on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 after a 3 year battle with cancer.

A private graveside service will be held at the Lake Crystal Cemetery.  Northview-North Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Val was born March 26th, 1951 to Alfred and Margaret (Tiedeken) Karau in rural Lewisville where she grew up. She married Marlin Knaak on September 7th, 1968 and had 2 daughters. They later divorced. She married Duane Erickson on December 31st, 1991 and they made their home in Lake Crystal. Val was a Teller Supervisor at MinnStar Bank for 25 years. She enjoyed baking, bingo, and beer. She loved to take trips with her daughters, tending to her garden and everything Christmas. 

Val is survived by her daughters, Jenny (Mike Glasser) Knaak, Angie (Randy) Rustman, and Jody Brown; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gordon Karau, Roger (Jim) Karau, and Velma Albrent. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her parents; her sister's, Deanna Tomford and Dee Firchau; and a grandson in infancy.
