Mankato resident Veronica L. Pfau age 90, died Friday, November 22, 2019 in Mankato.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 pm. at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Veronica L. Pfau was born September 3, 1929 to Norbert and Bessie (Bloyer) Johnson in Winona, Minnesota. She attended grade school in Waseca, graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Sleepy Eye. In 1951 she graduated from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Birmingham, AL. Veronica attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. After returning to Minnesota she came to Mankato and married James Pfau Sr. on January 27, 1962. She retired from the nursing profession at Immanuel – St. Joseph’s Hospital in November of 1994.

She was an active member of St. Peter and Paul, Summit Center and Catholic Daughters.

Veronica is survived by one son, James (Joleen) Pfau Jr. of Mankato, MN , two grandchildren, David Pfau and Mary Pfau; great-grandson, Owen Pfau.

Veronica was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, parents, and one sister.
