Vicki Lynn Boening

Vicki Lynn Boening, 62 of Mapleton, passed away June 16, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.

Memorial service will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m., Monday, June 24, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service.

Vicki was born October 15, 1956 to Andrew and Phyllis (Baker) Johnson in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1974. On September 7, 1974 she married Steven Boening at St. John Lutheran Church in Mapleton. Together they raised two children, Kyle and Tressa. Vicki worked for Mayo Clinic Health System for over 30 years as a Medicare Biller. She was mom and wife but most of all, and her favorite name by far, Grandma. In her free time she loved spending time with family and friends, relaxing with Steve at their hobby farm in Missouri, watching birds, traveling and playing cards. Vicki will be remembered as a strong, amazing fighter who lived every day to the fullest and never gave up. She will be dearly missed by many. 

Vicki is survived by her husband, Steven; children, Kyle (Katie) Boening and Tressa (Shane) Dobbe; grandchildren, Jax and Alli Boening and Lexi, Kaylee, and Addison Dobbe; sister, Sarah (Curt) Kloss; brothers, Lloyd Johnson, George (Dee) Johnson, and Ronald Johnson; brother-in-law, Gary (Gail) Boening; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
