Violet Emma Haedt

Violet Emma Haedt, age 98, of Mankato, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Martin Lutheran Care Center in Bloomington, MN.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mankato with Pastor John Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial in Decoria Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Violet was born June 6, 1922 in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County to Herman and Rosa (Fischer) Truebenbach. As she and her two brothers grew up, she was provided a religious and academic education. She was united in marriage to Lloyd W. Haedt on April 8, 1942 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. They raised two children, Elaine and Robert. Violet was a 25 year employee of Taylor Corporation, working in the shipping department. She continued her membership at Redeemer Lutheran Church and was active in the WELCA organization.

Violet was community minded and truly enjoyed her friendships through the Community Education Senior Citizen programs, Blue Earth County Home Extension Group, and her bridge and 500 clubs. She enjoyed traveling, reading, entertaining, playing cards, gardening, and embroidery projects. Her true passion was her family and found time to make individual quilts for her grandchildren, Christmas stockings for her great-grandchildren. She even made tree skirts and table runners.

Violet will be sadly missed by her daughter, Elaine (Wayne) Pestka of Mankato and Robert (Sandra) Haedt of Austin; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her two brothers, husband, and two great-grandchildren.
