William “Bill” Harold Reemer, age 80, of Mankato, passed away suddenly in his home Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Christ the King Lutheran Church led by Pastor Melanie Wallschlaeger. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and light refreshments will follow at church. Private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Bill was born March 13, 1943, in Mankato to Walter and Mary (Stokes) Reemer. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1961 and continued his education at the Mankato Vocational School. Bill was united in marriage to Sue Hoffman in 1964 and widowed in 1979. After her death, he reconnected with a longtime family friend, Lonnie Keltgen, and they were married for 44 years.
Bill was a proud employee of MNDOT as the Construction Office Manager for over 38 years until retirement in 2002. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed socializing with his coffee group at Panera, relaxing at the lake, motorcycles, and classic cars. Bill was known for his unique sense of humor. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a faithful man and dedicated member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lonnie Reemer of Mankato; children, Ron (Jada) Reemer of North Mankato; Brenda (Joe) Roper of Victoria, Kris (Gary Irmiter) Schneider of Eagle Lake, and Shavonne (Brandon) Emanuel of Mankato; grandchildren, Kayleigh (Brian) Fallon, Brandon (Cait) Reemer, Weston (Samantha) Reemer, Jake (Tressa) Flo, Kia (Taylor Weness) Flo, Abby, Nicole, and Adam Roper, Alexa and Cole Schneider, and Aubrey Emanuel; great-grandchildren, Aidan Reemer, Teagynn Roehm, and Jude Flo; brother, Don Reemer of Arkansas; parents-in-law, Dick and Mary Keltgen; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Sue Reemer.
