Linda Lou (Roberts) Schroeder, 86, of Lakewood, Colorado, and originally from Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at her home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Private family interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery following the service. Linda was born March 11, 1935 to Howard David and Ella Mae (Warrant) Roberts in Bemidji, Minnesota. As a child, Linda was active in Future Home Makers of America and was involved with music both at school and church.
She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1953. After graduation she attended the Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated in 1956. Linda then attended the University of Minnesota and received her BS in Nursing Administration in 1959. After graduation, Linda moved to Denver, Colorado and started her nursing career at Children’s Hospital.
Linda was united in marriage to Marvin L. Schroeder on April 6, 1963 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal, Minnesota. After their wedding, Linda and Marvin lived in Lakewood, Colorado. Linda stayed home with her children when they were young, but eventually taught piano lessons from her home piano studio and returned to nursing in home health. She retired from Lutheran Medical as a RN in 1998.
Linda enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting, knitting, quilting, playing the organ and piano, and singing in choir. She also enjoyed traveling across the U.S, visiting with her friends and family
Linda is survived by her husband, Marvin; three children, Juli (Dan) Callahan of Baltimore, MD, Mark (Debbie) Schroeder of Buffalo Valley, TN, and Ella (David) Schroeder Namaksy of Conifer, CO; grandchildren, Cian Callahan, Caleb Callahan, Niamh Callahan, Isabella Namaksy and Anastasia Namaksy ; siblings, Bill (Judie ) Robert so Sioux Falls, SD, Louella (Terry ) Mills of Tulsa, OK, Dean (Patti) Roberts of Lake Crystal, and Irene Gengler of St. Paul, MN; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ella Roberts, and her sister, Gerry Fredrickson.
